Unearthed at the Banzhulin site in Yibin, Sichuan, this Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220) sarcophagus is a masterpiece of its kind. Shaped like a house, with a roof-like lid intricately carved with ridges and tiles, it offers a vivid glimpse into life nearly 2,000 years ago.

Intricate carvings on the coffin depict various scenes, including pillar gates (both large and small), Fuxi and Nüwa, hunting expeditions, a horse-drawn cart, board games and the wrestling match.

Now housed at Yibin Museum, this sarcophagus serves as a fascinating window into the beliefs and lifestyles of the Eastern Han people.
