Chinese NEV startup IM Motors, in partnership with Alibaba, launched the IM AIOS Smart Cockpit on Monday, an industry-first AI-driven in-car ecosystem set to roll out in April.
The "no touch, no app" cockpit incorporates Alibaba’s cutting-edge AI technologies and ecosystem resources, introducing AI agents to replace traditional app-based interactions.
Unlike conventional in-car apps or mini-programs, the cockpit leverages the largest on-device open voice model in the industry and the first AI interaction agent developed by IM Motors and Alibaba subsidiary Zebra Network Technology Co.
Instead of interacting with isolated functions, users can now experience scenario-based services—where voice commands translate directly into actions.
One of the most anticipated features is "AI Takeout", co-developed with Ele.me, which is also part of Alibaba.
This allows drivers to place food orders via voice commands and have meals ready upon arrival—a game-changer for busy urban professionals.
The upcoming IM L6, set for an April debut, will be the first intelligent vehicle to feature this AI-driven food delivery system.
IM Motors said it aims to develop the AIOS into a fully integrated ecosystem spanning smart mobility, immersive entertainment, and mobile office solutions, unlocking new possibilities for future transportation experiences.
