Jinan-made tunnel boring machine showcases Shandong excellence

The Jinan-made "Kaituo No 1" tunnel boring machine (TBM) model attracted much attention at an exhibition during the ongoing two sessions in Beijing.

The exhibition, titled "Friendly Shandong, Remarkable Shandong" is being held at the place where the Shandong delegation to the third session of the 14th National People's Congress is staying.

The machine was developed by Jinan Heavy Industries Group Co and is Shandong's first large-diameter subway tunnel boring machine, demonstrating the province's impressive achievements in the high-end equipment industry.

To date, Jinan Heavy Industries Group Co has developed and manufactured over 140 tunnel boring machines, playing a key role in urban rail transit and water conservancy projects in more than 10 cities across the nation.

Moving forward, the company plans to make its tunnel boring machines even more intelligent, explore new application scenarios, and strengthen technological innovation. By integrating the industrial, value, and innovation chains, Jinan Heavy Industries Group Co aims to further elevate Jinan's manufacturing sector.
