The Second Plum Blossom Festival of Taizhou opened at Tiande Lake Park on Feb 22. With pink and red blossoms in full bloom, the scenic area attracted numerous visitors eager to admire the beautifully renovated plum grove.

Following an extensive upgrade, the plum blossom area has expanded significantly, featuring a greater variety of species. An additional 680 plum trees were planted, bringing the total to 2,280, while the area has grown from 20,000 to 35,000 square meters. The undergrowth has also been enhanced with orchids and shade-tolerant plants such as mondo grass.
The opening ceremony featured a vibrant lineup of performances, including Sichuan Opera face-changing, thrilling acrobatics, elegant dances by performers in traditional Chinese attire, and dynamic live music, blending tradition with modern entertainment. Visitors could also participate in interactive activities to win cultural souvenirs, ornaments, and gourd-shaped keychains, adding to the festive atmosphere.
