Huzhou celebrates Spring Festival with pro-consumption activities

"Celebrate Chinese New Year in Huzhou" activities began at the Zhebei Shopping Center Square in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, on Jan 6.

The event, featuring a New Year's market, traditional performances, and New Year customs experiences, promises a lively atmosphere for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Over the last year, Huzhou has offered a series of activities and beneficial policies to promote consumption. It has organized 681 consumption-promoting events, distributed 150 million yuan ($20.47 million) worth of consumer vouchers, and generated 31 billion yuan in consumption. Efforts to encourage trading in old items for new ones have benefited over 150,000 consumers and driven consumption by nearly 30 billion yuan.

Starting from Jan 6, Huzhou had a city-wide, cross-category pro-consumption activity running until Feb 16, incorporating over a hundred events such as an online New Year's shopping event, a cultural tourism consumption activity, and a lantern festival market.

These activities will blend consumption with traditional customs, cultural performances, and recreational activities in order to create a vibrant and festive atmosphere for residents to enjoy during Spring Festival and Lantern Festival.
