Shanxi to establish night economy brand

The Department of Commerce of Shanxi Province and 21 other departments released the guiding opinions on building the "Ancient Charm, New Brilliance – Shanxi Night Economy" brand to boost consumption, foster entrepreneurship, and promote employment.

To enrich nighttime consumption and the night economy, Shanxi has initially targeted Taiyuan city and plans to gradually extend to urban areas in other districts and cities. This will enlarge the scale and strengthen the brand of its night economy, facilitating high-quality economic growth.

The guiding opinions outline 12 key tasks, including illuminating urban and rural night markets, enhancing the quality of street environments, and diversifying business formats. It also highlights integrating culture, sports, dining, and commerce, promoting cultural night tours and experiences, and attracting and nurturing business entities.

The goal is to establish the "Ancient Charm, New Brilliance – Shanxi Night Economy" brand by 2027. By then, Shanxi aims to have a well-planned, well-facilitated, and well-regulated night economy, fostering several concentrated development regions that embody its culture and image.

Shanxi seeks to create highly visible night economy scenarios, innovate demonstrative and regionally influential development models, and promote distinctive and market-leading exemplary cases.
