On Dec 17, the third Yangtze River Cup Culinary Championship and the first International Medicinal Cuisine Development Conference and Jiangsu Medicinal Cuisine Skills Competition were held in Taizhou. The events attracted culinary professionals from around the nation, showcasing the unique charm and sophisticated techniques of traditional Chinese medicinal cuisine.
With the theme of promoting traditional Chinese medicinal cuisine and leading healthy lifestyle trends, the event was meant to share the latest research and innovations in medicinal cuisine, spread knowledge, and advocate for a balanced and health-focused lifestyle.
Jiang Jian, president of the Chinese Association of Health-Protection Food, highlighted the vast potential of medicinal cuisine. He noted its ability to integrate health benefits into daily dining, enhance wellness tourism, and support the elderly with nutritious and therapeutic meals.
Xu Haoyu, chairman of Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group, emphasized medicinal cuisine as a vital part of Chinese cultural heritage. Combining medicinal herbs with nutritious ingredients, these dishes offer both health benefits and culinary enjoyment. He expressed hope that the competition would inspire innovative recipes and techniques, enriching dietary diversity and promoting healthier eating habits.
