The 16th Wuxi International Renewable Energy Exhibition opened in Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province, on Dec 18, bringing together six academicians and 180 industry experts.
The three-day event features an opening ceremony, an exhibition, six conferences, and multiple project matchmaking activities, focusing on key areas such as photovoltaics, wind power, hydrogen energy, and energy storage.
The exhibition covers an area of 20,000 square meters, with 105 representative companies from various fields showcasing their latest products and technologies, and is expected to attract 20,000 professional visitors.
The opening ceremony witnessed the commencement of construction on the Wuxi Green Shipping Renewable Energy and Transportation Integration Industrial Park, the launch of a carbon management platform and battery traceability system, and the establishment of the Grand Canal Innovation Alliance for Green and Intelligent Shipping Industry.
During the event, trends in the development of new energy industries, ESG values, the 2023-2024 report on the development of new energy equipment industries, the top 10 new products and technologies in the new energy sector this year, the top 10 new energy application scenarios in the Yangtze River Delta in 2024, and emerging new energy enterprises in 2024 were announced.
Various domestic and international guests engaged in discussions and shared insights on new quality productive forces and future trends in the industry.
Throughout the renewable energy exhibition, Wuxi is projected to sign agreements on more than 60 new energy projects, with a cumulative investment of over 33.7 billion yuan ($4.63 billion).
In recent years, Wuxi has focused on becoming the "Capital of New Energy Equipment", issuing a series of papers including two three-year action plans for the new energy, hydrogen energy, and energy storage industries. This effort has nurtured 21 new energy listed companies and 43 nationally-recognized specialized and innovative "small giants". From January to October this year, the city's new energy enterprises above a designated size achieved an industrial output value of 191.47 billion yuan and revenues of 148.93 billion yuan, with the annual scale expected to surpass 200 billion yuan.
