The 2024 Taizhou Green and Healthy Agricultural Products and Major Projects Promotion Conference was held in Shanghai on Dec 13.

The event featured 84 suppliers from across Taizhou, presenting over 400 distinctive agricultural products to Shanghai residents. A key highlight was the designation of Taizhou's first four agricultural product supply bases for Shanghai.

Jiang Dongdong, Party secretary of Taizhou, said that hosting the promotional event marks a significant step forward in deepening agricultural integration between the two cities. He highlighted Taizhou's unique advantages: its ecological richness, which ensures a high proportion of premium green agricultural products in Jiangsu; its trusted brands, including 29 nationally recognized agricultural geographic indications and three regional public brands with sales exceeding 3 billion yuan ($411.79 million); and its promising development prospects.

Jiang extended an invitation for more major projects and investments, pledging top-tier business environments and attentive services for investors.

Xia Minglin, deputy director of the Shanghai Commission of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, noted Taizhou's vital role in supplying Shanghai with agricultural products. He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in attracting major agricultural projects, enhancing supply chains, advancing agricultural technology, and fostering talent exchange to drive rural vitalization and agricultural modernization in both regions.

In recent years, cooperation between Shanghai and Taizhou in agriculture has flourished, establishing Taizhou as a hub for agricultural investments in the Yangtze River Delta. This event resulted in over 30 agreements between investors, buyers, suppliers, and agricultural parks, with a total investment and procurement value of 13.76 billion yuan.

Among the 24 project agreements signed on-site, 16 were for major agricultural projects, with a total planned investment of 12.95 billion yuan, involving health food, cold chain logistics, and agritourism. The remaining eight agreements focused on agricultural product supply, amounting to 750 million yuan in transactions.
