The "Three-Year Action Plan for Artificial Intelligence and Mineharmony Applications in the Coal Industry (2025-27)" was launched at a press conference on Dec 16 in Ordos city's Dongsheng district.
Key officials presented the achievements of the "Ordos Industrial Internet Platform" and explained the new action plan, along with the associated construction guidelines and acceptance methods.
Four company leaders delivered keynote speeches, and a live signing ceremony took place between Ordos Airport Logistics Park and 15 hardware and software enterprises.
The plan outlines Ordos' vision for the next three years, which will be implemented in three phases. It aims to progressively upgrade and transform all coal mines by integrating AI, data fusion, and Mineharmony equipment. The city aspires to establish itself as a national leader in AI-driven coal mining, creating a benchmark for large-scale AI models and Mineharmony applications.
In recent years, Ordos has made significant strides in advancing the intelligent transformation of its coal mines. Utilizing high-level platforms like Huawei and leading industry enterprises, the city has focused on technical innovations. It has established the Key Laboratory of Mineharmony Interconnection Innovation National Mine Safety Administration and built an industrial internet platform, collaborating with several coal companies for pilot projects.
In collaboration with Peking University Ordos Research Institute of Energy, Ordos has been developing advanced intelligent coal mines. Through the integration of "AI + Industrial Internet," the coal industry has seen major improvements in system integration, production efficiency, and the creation of new forms of productivity.
Remarkable progress has been made in demonstration projects such as 5G + intelligent mining at the Madiliang coal mine, the intelligent high-efficiency mining face at Longwanggou, and 5G + unmanned driving at the Zhunneng Heidaigou open-pit mine.
These projects demonstrate the successful application of AI platforms, information systems, intelligent production, transportation, safety control systems, and management systems in mining operations.
