Nation's first standardized industry-education alliance established in Suzhou

The first standardized industry-education alliance in China has been established in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, aiming to advance the integration of industry and education.

The initial members of the alliance include over 80 leading enterprises from the "1030 industrial system", research institutes, universities, and academies. The alliance will focus on the standardized cultivation of six categories of talent: research, management, application, education, editorial, and international talent. It aims to establish a multi-level talent cultivation model with various classifications to support high-quality economic and social development.

Within the framework of the alliance, Suzhou will establish 14 standardization training bases in the first phase, focusing on fields such as displays, innovative drugs, and nanotechnology. The alliance will actively explore new training models to accelerate the cultivation of standardized professional talent through multiple channels and levels.

Meanwhile, the project for developing a standardized talent competency model has been officially launched. Suzhou Vocational University, the College of Textile and Clothing Engineering at Soochow University, the Suzhou Chien-Shiung Institute of Technology, and the Suzhou Robot and CNC Machine Tool Industry Standardization Alliance will collaborate on the creation of a model to standardize talent capabilities. This initiative will provide scientific guidance for the alliance in developing talent development plans, curriculum systems, educational resources, and practical training bases.

To date, Suzhou's enterprises and institutions have collectively led or participated in the revision of 168 international standards, including those set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), as well as over 9,000 national and industry standards. The city boasts more than 100 registered experts in international professional standardization technical organizations, reflecting significant progress in building a robust standardized talent pool and enhancing the quality of standardization work.
