The beam transfer on the Foshan Grand Bridge, part of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway project in Guangdong province, was recently completed.

This achievement represents a crucial step forward for the longest high-speed railway line in Guangdong's history, connecting Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Yunfu, Yangjiang, Maoming, and Zhanjiang.

The Foshan Grand Bridge, spanning 18.6 kilometers, is a complex structure that integrates various bridge types. The recent beam transfer, utilizing the flat transfer method, involved a precise 62.59-degree rotation of a 7,063--metric-ton structure, ensuring the bridge's alignment over the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Railway and the Shenyang–Haikou Expressway.

The Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway will greatly reduce travel time between Western Guangdong and the Greater Bay Area, enhancing connectivity and economic integration. The entire line is expected to be operational by the end of 2025, with the travel time from Maoming South Railway Station to Guangzhou Railway Station to be reduced to approximately 70 minutes.

The railway is poised to inject new vitality into the Greater Bay Area's transportation network, improving travel conditions for residents and fostering economic growth. It exemplifies Guangdong's commitment to advancing its infrastructure and integrating into the Greater Bay Area's "one-hour living circle".
