On Nov 29, the National Standard for Natural Rock Climbing Site was launched during the opening ceremony of the 16th Yangshuo Climbing Festival held in Guilin's Yangshuo county.
Experts involved in drafting the standard outlined its key elements, which define terminology, site requirements, inspection methods, and certification criteria for natural rock climbing sites. This milestone promotes the standardization, professionalism, and internationalization of China's climbing industry.
Huang Xiaoxue, mayor of Yangshuo county, emphasized Yangshuo's global reputation as a premier climbing destination and its commitment to advancing climbing sports and boosting sports tourism.
Following the ceremony, over 200 climbers from countries including the UK, France, and the US participated in thrilling natural rock challenges, celebrating Yangshuo's spectacular natural landscapes and unique climbing resources.
