The test train 55811 departed from Datong South High-Speed Railway Station at 8:40 am on Nov 26, marking the completion of the joint commissioning and testing of the Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-Speed Railway.
The line has now entered the final operational testing phase before its official opening. Connecting North China's Shanxi province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region, it is expected to officially open by the end of this year.
The Jining-Datong-Yuanping High-Speed Railway is designed for a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour, with a newly constructed line length of approximately 268.3 km. The line includes eight stations: Ulanqab, Fengzhen North, Datong South, Huairen East, Yingxian West, Shanyin South, Shuozhou East, and Daixian West.
During the operational testing phase, which will last about 30 days, various tests will be conducted, including fault simulations, emergency drills, timetable parameter testing, and trial runs according to the schedule.
These tests aim to evaluate the adaptability of the transportation organization under a variety of conditions, as well as emergency response capabilities in the event of equipment failures, unexpected incidents, and natural disasters.
The train will reduce travel time between Taiyuan and Hohhot from over five hours to approximately 2.5 hours. This will significantly accelerate regional personnel exchanges, economic interactions, and cultural exchanges, promoting the region's economic and social development.
