To foster deeper cooperation between museums and promote the integration of northern frontier culture with Yellow River and Pearl River cultures, an exhibition of the folk culture in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is being held at the Sun Yat-sen Marshal's Mansion Memorial Hall in Guangzhou from Nov 5 to Dec 8.

The exhibition features 88 treasured artifacts from the Ordos Museum, spanning a wide range of eras.

These include bronze chisels from the Shang and Zhou dynasties (c.16th century-256 BC), bronzes from Warring States Period (475-221 BC), pottery figurines from Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), modern horse gears, and contemporary musical instruments.

Through a diverse array of artifacts and vivid photographs, the exhibition offers a comprehensive exploration of Ordos's history and vibrant traditional folk culture. Visitors can learn about various aspects of Ordos's unique traditions, including production methods, daily life, medicinal heritage, competitive games, folk rituals, and costume arts.

An interactive installation allows visitors to view photos of typical furniture found in yurts by rolling blocks, providing insights into the traditional living customs of the Ordos people.

To enhance the audience's experience of Inner Mongolian culture, the exhibition also features a bilingual interactive wall. By flipping the panels, visitors can see Mongolian script and scan QR codes to listen to the corresponding Mongolian pronunciations.
