On Nov 28, Hitech Semiconductor marked its 15th anniversary with a special event in Wuxi New District, also known as Xinwu district.
Founded in 2009, Hitech Semiconductor is a joint venture between Wuxi Taiji Industry, Jiangsu's first listed company, and South Korea's SK Hynix. The company specializes in post-processing services for DRAM (dynamic random-access memory) chips, including packaging, testing, module assembly, and related services.
Zhang Jinwei, head of Xinwu, praised Hitech as a leader in the integrated circuit industry and a pioneer in advanced packaging. Over the past 15 years, the company has played a key role in driving high-quality development in WND and Wuxi's semiconductor sector, serving as a model for successful international collaboration.
The IC industry remains WND's flagship sector. In 2023, the district's IC output reached 155.4 billion yuan ($21.48 billion), accounting for two-thirds of Wuxi's, one-third of Jiangsu's, and one-ninth of China's total. In the first three quarters of this year, IC sales in WND hit 113.9 billion yuan, a 10.5 percent year-on-year growth.
