Ordos sees 6.9% growth in industrial output from Jan to Oct

From January to October, Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region reported a 6.9-percent year-on-year increase in the industrial output of enterprises above designated size, indicating steady improvement in the industrial economy.

Among the 28 major industries tracked, 17 sectors saw growth in added value, representing a growth rate of 60.7 percent, up 7.1 percentage points from the first three quarters.

Among them, the coal industry, along with the power and heat supply sectors, which hold significant shares in industrial output, reported growth rates of 6.3 percent and 11.1 percent, respectively.

These sectors contributed 4.6 and 0.6 percentage points to overall industrial output growth.

Meanwhile, emerging industries have accelerated their development. The high-tech manufacturing sector's added value saw a year-on-year increase of 236.4 percent, contributing 1.9 percentage points to overall industrial output growth.

Production of new energy and new materials remained stable, with significant outputs in polysilicon (890.9 kg), monocrystalline silicon (60.755 million kg), and solar cells (20.22 million kW), accounting for 90.5 percent of the region's total production.

Elsewhere, private enterprises demonstrated strong vitality, with 502 private enterprises above designated size, an increase of 37 from the same period last year. These enterprises accounted for 76.8 percent of the total number of industrial enterprises above designated size, with their added value growing by 6.5 percent year-on-year. This sector accounted for 49.3 percent of total industrial output, raising overall growth by 3.3 percentage points.

Additionally, medium-sized and large enterprises above designated size in the city made significant contributions, with their added value growing by 9.1 percent year-on-year, 2.2 percentage points higher than the city's average and 8.2 percentage points higher than small and micro enterprises. These enterprises accounted for 74.6 percent of total industrial output, contributing 6.6 percentage points to overall growth.
