Household appliance exports gain ground in Ningbo

Ningbo's household appliance exports hit 61.74 billion yuan ($8.51 billion) in the first 10 months of this year, marking a 16.2 percent increase compared to the previous year and accounting for 7.9 percent of the city's total export value, according to data from Ningbo Customs.

One company exemplifying this positive trend in the city's household appliance exports is the gardening tools manufacturer Babytec. As autumn and winter represent the peak sales season for gardening tools, the company anticipates exporting over 200 million yuan worth of stocked goods to its overseas warehouses in Europe and America in the fourth quarter.

Similarly, Ningbo Seago Electric Co Ltd has experienced consistent growth in business volume. Situated in Ningbo's Jiangbei district, the enterprise specializes in sonic electric toothbrushes, toothbrush sterilizers, and other personal care products, with an annual production capacity of 35 million electric toothbrushes. Notably, the company recorded a nearly 20 percent year-on-year increase in export value during the first 10 months of this year.

In a concerted effort to bolster domestic brands, Ningbo Customs has introduced tailored services to boost household appliance export enterprises in their global endeavors. Weng Jianfeng, deputy general manager of Zhejiang Biyi Electric Appliance Co Ltd, stated, "Throughout the brand-building process, Ningbo Customs has provided significant assistance in nurturing AEO enterprises, facilitating certificates of origin, and safeguarding customs intellectual property rights."

He revealed that with the growing recognition of the Biyi brand, supported by customs authorities, their kitchen small appliances have penetrated markets in over 70 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
