Taiyuan districts rank among Central China's top 100

Four districts in Taiyuan, capital of North China's Shanxi province, ranked among the top 100 districts in Central China for comprehensive competitiveness, according to the "China County Development Monitoring Report 2024", released in Beijing on Nov 19. The Xiaodian, Yingze, Xinghualing, and Wanbailin districts ranked 22nd, 38th, 43rd, and 58th, respectively.

China's central region is an important area for grain production, energy and raw materials, modern equipment manufacturing, and high-tech industries. It is also a comprehensive transportation hub.

The report shows that in the 2024 ranking of the top 100 districts in Central China for comprehensive competitiveness, the average GDP of the top 100 districts was 78.93 billion yuan ($10.88 billion), with an average annual growth of 5.1 percent.

The average per capita GDP is 111,200 yuan, 1.2 times the national average. The average general public budget revenue is 3.81 billion yuan, growing by an average of 8.2 percent year over year.

The average per capita disposable income is 52,040 yuan for urban residents and 36,120 yuan for rural residents. The urban-rural per capita disposable income ratio is 1.63, 0.76 lower than the national average.

Among the 11 districts from Shanxi that made the list, Taiyuan leads with four, followed by districts in Changzhi, Linfen, Shuozhou, Datong, Lyuliang, and Jincheng.
