The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially released the list of pilot cities for the 2024 "5G+ industrial internet" integration application during the opening ceremony of the 2024 China 5G+ Industrial Internet Conference. Wuhan, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Shanghai were among the first 10 cities selected.
The conference, which opened on Nov 19 in the Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC) in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei province, is the first national-level "5G+ industrial internet" conference.
Having been held in OVC for four consecutive years, it has become a key platform for policy announcements, practice showcases, collaboration exchanges, industry promotion, and development trends in the integration and innovation of 5G and industrial internet.

The 10 pilot cities selected at the conference will use new technologies, facilities, scenarios, models, and the business ecosystem of "5G+ industrial internet" to create industry clusters and innovation ecosystems with national and regional leadership effects.

The National High-tech Zone Optoelectronic Industry Collaborative Innovation Network was launched at the conference's main forum, with promotions from OVC.
The network, initiated by OVC in collaboration with 13 other national high-tech zones, aims to streamline the optoelectronic information industry chain and supply chain. It seeks to integrate optoelectronic information innovation resources and jointly build a globally competitive industry cluster.
