Brad Perkins, co-founder and chairman of the renowned architectural firm Perkins Eastman, visited Wuxi on Nov 14 to inspect the design and construction progress of the Wuxi Symphony Hall.

Perkins emphasized the importance of the project, saying, "The Wuxi Symphony Hall is one of our most significant projects in China. We are committed to creating a world-class symphony hall that embodies Wuxi's unique character."

The architectural concept, inspired by the phrase "Moon over Taihu Lake", envisions music rising from Taihu Lake like the moon and spreading across the world.

A key feature of the project is the photovoltaic panel roofing on the main hall's wings, modeled after the technology used at Google's headquarters in the United States. This innovative design, a first in China, also showcases the achievements of Wuxi's photovoltaic industry.

The hall is expected to begin interior decoration after the Spring Festival in 2025, with construction set for completion by the end of 2025 and official opening in the first half of 2026.

Founded in 1981, Perkins Eastman is the largest architectural firm in New York and ranks among the top 10 architectural design companies worldwide.
