China (Jilin) Animation Conference kicks off

The second China (Jilin) Animation Conference began on Nov 14 in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province. It brings together animators, industry experts, and scholars from across China to celebrate achievements and advance the high-quality development of Chinese animation.

The conference has attracted over 400 animation works and academic papers from organizations and independent creators nationwide, including arts federations, production companies, and universities. Featured events include an opening ceremony, an exhibition of top animations, pitch sessions, academic seminars, artist campus visits, and the "Vibrant Animation Night" showcase. Over 70 media, animation, gaming, and cultural tourism companies, along with 16 affiliated universities from Jilin province, are participating in discussions focused on the future of China's animation industry.

The 2024 High-Quality Animation Development Forum examined the theme "Symphony of Heritage and Innovation – Inspiring New Animation Market Waves", with keynote speakers from institutions like Beijing Film Academy, Tencent Video, and Jilin Animation Institute. Experts discussed the industry's evolution and the fusion of technology and art.

Jilin has made significant strides in developing its animation industry in recent years. During the conference, the province announced a new policy to support industry growth that focuses on developing animation enterprises, fostering original works, and promoting technological innovation.
