The Xi'an city tour bus project "Chang'an Xunmeng" was selected as one of the national demonstration cases for the integrated development of transportation and tourism.
The project features double-decker buses themed around poetry, literature, rituals, music, and martial arts in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). These five tourism sightseeing products immerse visitors in a journey through history and literature the moment they step aboard the bus.
The products offer a novel experiential narrative. They pioneer a "mobile" performance model that provides an immersive experience from a first-person perspective. This allows tourists to traverse ancient and modern times and indulge in the exquisite ambiance of traveling in the Tang Dynasty.
In recent years, the Xi'an city tour bus service has closely followed cultural tourism trends, seizing the opportunity presented by the nationwide shift in tourism consumption toward a younger demographic.
Integrating "culture + tourism + transportation" resources and breaking away from traditional sightseeing models is driving the transition from "sightseeing tourism" to "experiential tourism”, transforming tourism transportation into a new medium for cultural dissemination.
Currently, the Xi'an city tour bus service operates 25 double-decker buses on eight tourism sightseeing routes, covering over 40 famous scenic spots, museums, and trendy districts.
