Spring Airlines launched its inaugural direct flight from Xi'an to Chiang Mai, Thailand, on Nov 8 with over 160 passengers on board.
The new Xi'an to Chiang Mai route operates four times a week: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. It offers same-day round trips. One-way ticket prices, excluding taxes and fees, currently start as low as 100 yuan ($13.83).
The outbound flight from Xi'an departs at 8:15 am and arrives in Chiang Mai at 10:45 am, taking three hours and 30 minutes. The return flight from Chiang Mai leaves at 11:45 am and reaches Xi'an at 4 pm, with a flight duration of three hours and 15 minutes.
This new direct flight service will provide convenience for tourists traveling to Thailand from Xi'an and the central-western regions of China, further enhancing interaction and development in the China-Thai tourism market.
It will also improve efficiency for business travelers and enhance comfort and convenience for tourists.
Xi'an, a key city in central-western China known for its economic and tourism significance, now boasts 14 flight routes operated by Spring Airlines. These routes connect Xi'an to domestic destinations such as Shenyang, Changchun, Shenzhen, Jieyang, Ningbo, Nanchang, Shanghai, Urumqi, and Yining. Its international destinations include Osaka and Ibaraki in Japan, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Bangkok in Thailand, and the newly added direct flight to Chiang Mai, Thailand.
