An open day for the digital exhibition of Tang culture, titled "A Dream into the Tang Dynasty", was held on Friday in Lianhu district, Xi'an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi province.
The exhibition utilizes technologies such as AI, VR, and cloud rendering to recreate the glory of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) through innovative, interactive storytelling.
As a digital cultural and tourism project developed by Lianhu district, it seeks to further develop local digital cultural and tourism IP in Shaanxi, playing a positive role in achieving new breakthroughs in digitally-driven traditional cultural development.
Drawing from historical records, archaeological findings, and thorough research on relevant materials, the production team designed immersive virtual scenes, creating a digital museum that integrates ancient art with modern technology. This exhibition presents visitors with a three-dimensional, interactive recreation of Tang Dynasty scenery.
During the nearly 40-minute immersive experience, visitors embark on a journey back into the Tang Dynasty, guided by a dedicated host. Riding in a gilded copper carriage and crossing the vibrant Milky Way, they witness a thrilling battle led by famous Tang generals and fly over the Qinling Mountains in a parrot-shaped carriage. They tour the beautiful scenery of ancient Chang'an and even converse with Emperor Taizong of Tang (r. 627-649), Li Shimin. This thrilling, exciting, and fantastical fully immersive experience unfolds in stages, offering participants a magnificent visual feast.
