On Nov 6, at the foot of Mount Tai in Tai'an, a unique cultural exchange event took place as the St. Petersburg Star Ballet held a cultural exchange activity at Mount Tai.
The members of the Russian ballet troupe visited the Daimiao Temple, where they marveled at the solemnity and historical charm of the ancient buildings within the temple. In front of the Tiankuang Hall of the Daimiao Temple, an outstanding flash mob performance brought the event to a climax. The dancers presented a brilliant ballet performance, captivating the audience with their agility and gracefulness.
Following that, actors from the Shandong Bangzi Art Research Institute also took the stage, which was filled with the charm of traditional Chinese opera through profound movements and unique singing styles. The performance seemed to be an almost romantic encounter between Eastern and Western cultures.
The cultural event drew a sizeable crowd and also promoted Mount Tai through live streaming on-line and short videos on new media platforms.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, and China and Russia have jointly set 2024 and 2025 as the China-Russia Years of Culture. The cultural event at Mount Tai scenic area built a new bridge for cultural exchange between the two countries.
