The Shaanxi Procurement and Investment Seminar was held on Nov 6 at the 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, where the Xi'an delegation signed contracts totaling 6.27 billion yuan ($877.8 million).

The delegation, organized by the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Commerce, actively promoted procurement and investment opportunities, resulting in a strong performance at the event.

This year, Xi'an's signed contracts expanded into emerging sectors such as mixed rubber, chemical raw materials, and high-end medical equipment. Among the deals, Shaanxi Shaanmei Supply Chain Management Co signed a coal import project with Glencore in Switzerland, valued at 3.05 billion yuan, the largest deal of the signing event.

Xi'an Shaangu Power Co debuted its innovations at the event, including the "Energy Interconnection Island" system solutions, highlighting Shaangu's strengths in energy transition and technological innovation.

In recent years, the number of foreign trade enterprises in Xi'an has grown at an annual rate of 10 percent, and the city's foreign trade volume has risen from 100 billion yuan to 400 billion yuan.

In the first three quarters of this year, Xi'an's total import and export value reached 304.9 billion yuan, an increase of 15.7 percent year-on-year. This impressive growth highlights Xi'an's dynamic international business environment and expanding role in global trade.
