International classical studies experts discover Jinan

A group of classical studies experts from countires including Argentina, Canada, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Russia, and the United States embarked on a three-day tour of Shandong in Jinan, the province's capital on Nov 3, to trace ancient civilizations and deepen mutual cultural exchange.

In Jinan, they explored the city's iconic sites like Daming Lake, Shandong University, Shandong Museum, and the Chengziya Site Museum, immersing themselves in the its natural beauty, rich history and culture charm.

From ancient cultural sites to modern urban landscape, Shandong has witnessed the glorious history of Chinese civilization. As an important birthplace of Chinese civilization and Confucian culture, the province has not only nurtured great thinkers such as Confucius, Mencius, and Sun Tzu, but also preserved numerous precious historical and cultural heritage, providing valuable resources and inspiration for classical studies in China and the world.

The participants of the tour will attend the inaugural World Conference of Classics, which is scheduled to take place in Beijing from Nov 6 to 8. Under the theme "Classical Civilizations and the Modern World," the conference will bring together experts from around the globe to share their insights into ancient civilizations and discuss the evolution of knowledge and thought.
