The 10th Qinqiang Opera Art Festival kicked off on Nov 1 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province. Running until Nov 11, this magnificent Qinqiang Opera feast welcomes guests from all directions, praising the millennium charm.
The festival's opening performance was divided into four chapters, showcasing Qinqiang Opera's profound heritage and contemporary charm.
Thirty troupes from five provinces in Northwest China, 20 Plum Blossom Award winners, hundreds of new Qinqiang Opera talents with 17 major productions, and over 120 episode excerpts will perform in six venues across Xi'an and Weinan Grand Theater.
The performances will feature classic traditional operas, newly adapted historical dramas, modern plays with revolutionary themes, and performances by renowned Yue Opera and Yu Opera troupes.
Multiple performances will also extend beyond theaters to streets, communities, and campuses, with activities organized by inheritors of Qinqiang Opera styles, youth actor selections for new stars, and outstanding local operas.
