Li Li, commissioner of China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), and Mette Aaboe Hansen, interim director general of Danish Medicines Agency, signed a letter of intent to promote bilateral cooperation in regulation of drugs and medical devices in Beijing on Oct 24.
The signing ceremony followed a working meeting between Li and Hansen, at which Li introduced China's drug regulation and the development of its pharmaceutical industry. In recent years, the two sides have carried out a series of exchanges in drug evaluation, testing and inspection as well as medical device regulation, Li said, noting that he hopes to push forward exchanges and collaboration between the drug regulatory authorities of the two countries into broader fields and deeper level.
Hansen said Denmark attaches great importance to cooperation with China in drug regulation and is willing to further deepen bilateral cooperation through closer exchange activities.
The two sides agreed to jointly promote the phase-2 project of the China-Denmark Cooperation in the Strategic Field of Drugs and Medical Devices, and further carry out practical cooperation in regulation in such fields.
Officials from related NMPA organizations and affiliated institutions attended the meeting.
