On Nov 3, the Guilin Festival closed at the Guilin Cultural Plaza, concluding nine days of cultural celebration centered around the theme "Looking Back and Moving Forward."

This year's festival honored the legacy of the Southwest Drama Exhibition and launched the inaugural Ouyang Yuqian Awards to promote theater arts and cultural confidence. The festival's opening featured The Spring and Autumn of Drama by the Central Academy of Drama, alongside exhibitions and tributes to wartime theater icons like Ouyang Yuqian and Tian Han.

The event attracted hundreds of artists from six countries, including China, Sweden, and Australia, showcasing 18 productions across 48 performances. It highlighted Guilin's unique blend of art and landscape, transforming the city into an "open-air theater" that captivated audiences.

The closing ceremony featured diverse performances such as dance, children's arts programs, and poetry recitations, embodying Guilin's vibrant cultural spirit. Li Chu, mayor of Guilin, invited audiences back for the 2025 festival, promising another cultural showcase in this picturesque city.
