The "China's Development: An Opportunity for a Colorful World" discussion was held on Oct 31 in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province.
Through thematic speeches and roundtable discussions, experts, scholars, and young representatives from home and abroad shared their insights and experiences from their visits to Guizhou. They promoted in-depth exchanges and mutual learning to celebrate the province's diversity.
Steven Weathers, an entrepreneur and media figure, Zhang Tao, chief scientist of Beijing Aerospace Changfeng Co, and Andy Mok, professor at Beijing Foreign Studies University and CGTN commentator on technology and geopolitics, delivered speeches that provided a fascinating showcase and analytical insights into Guizhou's diverse landscapes, vibrant development, and future prospects.
In recent years, Guizhou has achieved economic transformation through infrastructure development and the advancement of the digital economy, offering valuable lessons for global development.

The roundtable discussions were attended by Liu Dian, an associate research fellow at the China Institute of Fudan University; Jing-Jiang Zhou, a leading talent scholar and doctoral supervisor at Guizhou University; Du Fujia, the first Party secretary of Shatang village; and Sami Ullah Khan, a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Entomology at Guizhou University. Their discussions focused on infrastructure, big data, and ecological fields to delve into the driving forces and prospects for Guizhou's sustainable development.
Guizhou's representation of Chinese culture is currently being showcased to the world in diverse forms and perspectives. David Patrick Geary, a teacher at the College of Physical Education of Guizhou University; Yang Changqin, a provincial intangible cultural heritage inheritor of Chishui bamboo weaving; Kadhim Alobaidi, a teacher at the School of Continuing Education of Beijing Language and Culture University; and Kovalevska Karyna, an internet influencer, engaged in dialogues and exchanges on the theme of "colorful culture of colorful Guizhou".
They contributed wisdom from their respective professional perspectives to showcase the diverse culture of Guizhou on the world stage.
