The 8th Shanxi (Yuncheng) International Fruit Trade Expo kicked off on Oct 30 at the Yellow River Golden Triangle Agricultural Products International Trading Center in Wanrong county, Yuncheng city, North China's Shanxi province.
Lasting five days, this year's expo highlights high-quality development, new quality productive forces, and benefiting farmers, adhering to the principles of professionalism, market orientation, and internationalization.
Special events include a talk on international economic and trade cooperation, an investment signing ceremony, a fruit industry brand-building seminar, and a traditional opera performance.
The expo covers nearly 10,000 square meters and features 23 exhibition areas, including premium agricultural products, specialty dried fruits, cross-border e-commerce, and packaging industries. Over 200 participating companies showcase more than 1,300 products.
During the opening ceremony, the China Fruit Marketing Association awarded regional public brand certificates to the Yuncheng, Wanrong, Linyi, Ruicheng, and Pinglu apple brands. A total of 54 investment projects were signed, amounting to an investment of 5.49 billion yuan ($770.54 million).
Known as the "Northern Orchard of China", Yuncheng exports 73 varieties of fruits to 76 countries and regions worldwide, with local fruit exports accounting for 80 percent of the province's total.
Since 2016, Yuncheng has hosted seven fruit expos, significantly boosting Shanxi fruits' recognition, reputation, and influence domestically and internationally. The expos have attracted participants from over 70 countries and regions worldwide.
