The National Financial Regulatory Administration recently announced that Suzhou has been selected as a pilot city for equity investment by financial asset investment companies.
This inclusion allows financial asset investment companies of five state-owned banks — Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and Bank of Communications — to conduct equity investments in Suzhou.
The move is expected to bring substantial funding into the city. Additionally, these companies will serve as benchmarks, attracting increasing social capital to Suzhou and continuously providing more investment to local enterprises.
In recent years, Suzhou has been committed to gathering industrial capital. The city is currently home to over 400 registered private equity fund managers. Over the past three years, Suzhou's equity investments have consistently ranked in the top five nationwide and the first in Jiangsu province. The rapid growth of equity investment has created a vibrant market environment, paving the way for the pilot program in equity investment by financial asset investment companies.
