HUB conference 2024 set to open soon

The 7th Hongqiao International Economic Forum Sub-Forum on Further Improving the Capacity of the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub and Fully Fostering New Quality Productive Forces will be held on November 6 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and the Ministry of Commerce, and hosted by the Hongqiao International Central Business District Administrative Committee, this conference firmly seizes the idea "the development of new quality productive forces is an essential requirement and critical leverage point for advancing high-quality development" and follows the theme of "Further Improving the Capacity of the Hongqiao International Opening-up HUB and Fully Fostering New Quality Productive Forces". It aims to further improve the Hub's capacity, strengthen its core functions, highlight institutional advantages, enhance international influence, and advance the development of the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub to new heights amid deepening reforms.

The HUB Conference has successfully held three previous editions, establishing the "Hongqiao Consensus" and contributing "Hongqiao Insights", featuring  numerous highlights and fruitful outcomes. It has added a distinctive "Hongqiao presence" to the grand event of the China International Import Expo (CIIE). The HUB Conference 2024, closely aligned with contemporary themes, promises an exciting and highly anticipated program.

This year's Hongqiao Sub-Forum will feature four key segments: Opening Remarks, Keynote Speeches, Thematic Presentations, and Interactive Discussions. Distinguished speakers will include JIANG Xiaojuan, Professor of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Former Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council, Viktor Mayer-Schönberger, Professor of Internet Governance and Regulation at the Oxford Internet Institute University of Oxford, WANG Yiming, Vice Chairman of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), JIANG Yugang, Vice President of Fudan University, and Will Symons, Deloitte Asia Pacific Sustainability & Climate Leader. Additionally, prominent experts and industry elites from various fields, such as artificial intelligence, digital art, regional collaboration, industrial investment, and low-altitude economy, will attend the Sub-Forum to offer their insights and recommendations for the development of the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub.

Hongqiao International Economic Forum (hereinafter referred to as HQF) is held in tandem with the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Under the theme of "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization", the 7th HQF features the main forum (the opening ceremony of the CIIE and HQF), and 19 parallel sessions under "1+4" sections, i.e. the Press Release and International Symposium on World Openness Report 2024 and parallel sessions under Opening-up for Development, Opening-up for Cooperation, Opening-up for Innovation and Opening-up for Sharing. Meanwhile, closed meetings, including roundtables for foreign-funded enterprises and promotional activities related to "Invest in China", will be organized at the 7th HQF.

Introduction to CIIE & HQF GALA

The 7th China International Import Expo & Hongqiao International Economic Forum Gala (CIIE&HQF GALA) will continue to be held before the opening ceremony, further enhancing the quality of services provided.

Facilitate networking and meetings. The Hongqiao Forum Secretariat will promptly release guest information to support mutual networking.

Enhance media interaction. Mainstream media will be invited to the event for scheduled interviews and spontaneous on-site interviews with high-profile guests, to enhance visibility. Photography services will also be provided.

Launch the function of message reservation. The information system of the Hongqiao Forum is optimized and upgraded. This system integrates such functions as registration, information inquiry, and guest interaction. It is now operational within the Hongqiao Forum module of the "Import Expo" App and applet.
