The 2024 Tour of Taiyuan opened on Oct 31 in Loufan county, Taiyuan, North China's Shanxi province. Over 180 cyclists from 20 teams worldwide will participate in the event, which will continue until Nov 2.
The Tour of Taiyuan started in 2019 and has attracted widespread attention due to its high standards, diverse participating teams, and broad influence.
This year's event has three stages. The first stage is in Loufan county, and covers 90 kilometers. It starts at the Gao Junyu Memorial Hall and ends at Jianhe Wetland Park.
The second stage, which spans 112 km, will be held at Xishan Mountain. It starts from the east gate of Taiyuan Ancient County, passes through historical sites like the Jinci Temple, and finishes at the Yuquan Mountain Suburb Forest Park Square.
The third stage, which covers 110 km, starts at Dongshan Mountain. It starts on Yingze Street, west of Taiyuan Railway Station, crosses the urban and suburban areas, and finally reaches the south gate of Shuangta Park.
The event will also include a 50-km mass cycling tour starting from the west side of Taiyuan Railway Station on Yingze Street and finishing at the Changfeng Business District Square.
During the mass cycling tour, cycling enthusiasts will enjoy the same racecourse and services as professional cyclists, experience the beauty of Taiyuan up close, and spark a fitness trend among the public.
