The 5,000-ton self-propelled full-rotation crane ship Huaxia Kunpeng 01 was delivered on Oct 23 at Nantong Zhenhua Heavy Equipment Manufacturing Co in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), Jiangsu province.

It will become a deep-sea, large-scale tool in offshore wind power construction, offshore steel structure installation, and installation of large modules for marine oil.

Equipped with a streamlined bow, rounded corners at the longitudinal and stern sections, and a skeg, the vessel has a length of 195 meters, a width of 49.8 meters, and a depth of 16 meters. It is a steel all-welded self-propelled full-rotation crane ship with long-distance self-propulsion capabilities. The ship results from Zhenhua's first cooperation with Huaxia Financial Leasing in the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) general contracting of large engineering vessels.

There is a 5,000-ton lifting capacity crane at the stern, ranking it in the forefront of domestic crane ships. It is mainly used for offshore wind power pile foundation construction, including transition pieces, booster stations, installation of significant offshore components, and other maritime engineering projects. After the delivery, the ship is poised to provide strong equipment support for the offshore wind power industry and help China achieve the goals of peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality as soon as possible.

Shipbuilding and marine engineering serve as business cards and industrial landmarks in Nantong and are crucial for developing the city's marine economy.
