The Shanghai Cultural Week for the 9th Asian Winter Games officially began on Oct 28.
The Games are scheduled for February 2025 in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
The two-week event, hosted at the Xinhua Bookuu Academy in Shanghai's Xuhui district, features activities such as the "Shanghai Gas Station" exhibition and the Asian Winter Games Lecture Series.
These events aim to showcase the new image of Harbin, Heilongjiang, China, and Asia to the world.
At the "Shanghai Gas Station" themed exhibition area, visitors can delve into the history of the Asian Winter Games, the structure of the events, and the remarkable achievements of Chinese athletes in past Games.
The exhibition highlights Harbin's ice and snow culture, unique architecture, and cultural landmarks. It also showcases licensed merchandise and winter sports equipment for the Asian Winter Games.
The Asian Winter Games Lecture Series will feature in-depth discussions on 10 themes, including "Research on the Development of the Ice and Snow Economy and Industry", "The Charm and Challenges of Winter Sports", and "The Charm and Heritage of Ice and Snow Culture".
The series aims to promote winter sports and urban culture through champion lectures, industry forums, and research discussions.
It also provides a platform for relevant organizations and institutions to engage in industry exchanges and collaborate on the development of winter sports and the ice and snow economy.
