The Xi'an International Communication Center was established on Oct 28 in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
Xi'an has not only a millennium of historical glory but also serves as a crucial gateway for contemporary China's opening-up and cultural exchanges.
Establishing the Xi'an International Communication Center signifies a strategic decision for Xi'an to deepen its opening-up, expand its global perspectives, promote cultural exchanges, enhance international understanding and friendship, and improve international communication efficiency.
During the event, Xi'an Daily and Xi'an Broadcasting Corporation were designated as the International Communication Center's text and image and film and television bases, respectively.
Expert consultants were appointed, and representatives from the central media signed a media cooperation framework agreement. In collaboration with Xi'an International Studies University and Xi'an University of Arts and Sciences, the Xi'an-Central Asia Regional International Communication Research Center with Northwest University and the Xi'an International Communication Center Translation Training Base were unveiled.
The Xi'an International Communication Center will also focus on the city's abundant resources, nurturing and incubating 80-100 "Star Partners" to become overseas ambassadors, gradually establishing a multi-faceted matrix of overseas self-media accounts for Xi'an.
In addition, the 2024 Foreign Media's Trip to Xi'an event was launched. In it, 16 mainstream media journalists from six countries and regions, including the UK, South Korea, France, Cuba, Tanzania, and Hong Kong, will embark on a high-quality four-day visit to Xi'an.
