Chinese and Japanese automotive industries are encouraged to deepen their collaboration and exchanges, especially in terms of automotive assessment, said experts at an industry meeting on Friday.
The event, organized by China Automotive Engineering Research Institute and China Certification & Inspection Group-China Automotive Japan, attracted over 40 participants from the two countries, including those from Japan Automobile Research Institute and major carmakers such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan.
Experts from CAERl shared the latest research and advancements in key areas including the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index, IVISTA China Intelligent Vehicle Index, and China Automotive Health Index.
Wang Yao, deputy chief engineer of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, said China and Japan, as major players in the global automotive industry, have brought distinct strengths and contributions to the field.
He highlighted the value of deepening exchanges on automotive index technology, saying that such efforts could enhance each other's understanding of industry trends and facilitate their technical cooperation and knowledge sharing.
Chao Peipei, director of the CAERI Index Management Center, underscored the importance of international collaboration in driving growth across the global automotive industry.
She noted that several Japanese experts had recently joined the CAERI Automotive Index Technical Expert Committee, contributing to the development of the institute's automotive index standard system.
Chao said that such events would deepen mutual understanding between China and Japan, establishing a strong foundation for future joint research and partnerships in assessment technology.
Liu Zhonglin, deputy general manager of CCIC Japan, highlighted the nearly two-decade-long collaboration between CCIC Japan and leading Japanese automotive businesses.
He reiterated CCIC Japan's commitment to supporting the automotive industry through robust technical standards and product certification, aiming to further broaden and deepen Sino-Japanese cooperation.
