Qingdao FTZ to boost talent development

The 2024 Qingdao International Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week and the 24th "Blue Fair" opened in Qingdao West Coast New Area on Oct 18.

This year's event continued with the theme "Gathering talent, empowering the future," featuring 80 high-level overseas talents from 22 countries, who brought their projects for discussion. Agreements for ten key projects were signed on-site.

The Qingdao FTZ released the International Talent Community Construction Guidelines and established a number of service platforms, offering 358 talent-related services. So far, 131 international talents have received living allowances totaling 27.59 million yuan ($3.87 million).

Guided by the city's human resources bureau, the community formed a volunteer service team with 219 members from 15 countries, contributing to city development and cultural exchange.

After the opening ceremony, a seminar on overseas talent services was held, attended by over 70 representatives from government, universities, and enterprises. The Talent Enterprise Comprehensive Service Group shared the success of the initiative, which has provided 916 services to 775 foreign nationals and connected them with 50 livable resources, including tax, education, healthcare, and housing.
