The Fifth Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Jilin Provincial Committee was held on Oct 16 in Changchun – capital of North China's Jilin province – with major decisions announced.
The session focused on implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and approved the Implementation Opinions – aimed at deepening reform and advancing the comprehensive revitalization of Jilin.
The Implementation Opinions addressed key obstacles affecting Jilin's high-quality development, with a focus on regional issues and matters of public concern.
It outlined nine special initiatives to foster significant breakthroughs in the province's revitalization – including enhancing border tourism, food security and disaster prevention.
The initiatives also emphasize promoting the local ginseng industry, developing new energy sources and deepening government performance management reforms.
Jilin's economy is on a positive trajectory, with GDP growth rates of 6.3 percent in 2023 and 5.7 percent in the first half of 2024. These efforts are expected to continue to drive economic development in the province.
By addressing regional and economic challenges, the session aimed to position Jilin for a new era of comprehensive revitalization and prosperity.
