The Future of Intelligent Manufacturing Standards

A sub-forum of the 7th Hongqiao International Economic Forum, "International Cooperation on Standards for High-Quality Development of the Manufacturing Industry", will be held on November 5th at the C2 room of Hall 4.2 of National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). This sub-forum is hosted by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, and Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China. Organized by Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, Instrumentation Technology and Economy Institute, P.R.China, Institute of Standardization of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology.

Manufacturing is the mainstay of the national economy and a key area that receives significant attention and vigorous development from countries around the world. Currently, global manufacturing is undergoing accelerated transformation, with intelligence, sustainability and high-end development emerging as new themes of high-quality development. Standards, as essential support for driving the optimization and upgrading of manufacturing, play a crucial role in addressing the deep integration of multiple technologies in intelligent manufacturing and promoting the rapid advancement of high-end manufacturing. The Standardarzation Sub-forum of 7th Hongqiao Forum will invite Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of ISO, Philippe Metzger, Secretary-General & CEO of IEC, and Leila Pakkala, Director of UNICEF Supply Division, Ma Yushan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Mike Kesti, Senior Vice President of 3M Corporate Research Laboratory, Dong Mingzhu, Chairperson of the Board and President of Gree Electric Appliances of Zhuhai, Wang Decheng, Chair of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd, and other experts will deliver keynotes report on standard international cooperation promoting high-quality development of the manufacturing industry, based on frontiers of global manufacturing and standardization, to reveal the effective utilization of global manufacturing resources promoted by international cooperation in manufacturing standards, lead the optimization and upgrading of the manufacturing industry and explore the way of development in the new era.

In the outcome publication release session, the National Standardization Administration Committee will publish two outcomes to the public. The first is the release of more than 200 national standards in foreign languages to promote technical cooperation and trade facilitation; The second is the release of the "Smart Manufacturing International Standardization Roadmap", which provides an important reference for China's participation in the international standardization of smart manufacturing.

In the panel discussion, Mr. Rudy Belliardi, Assistant Secretary of IEC/TC 65 (Industrial-process measurement, control and automation), Mr. Tamai Takeshi, Borad Director & Executive Vice President of MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC (CHINA) CO.,LTD, Li Yan, Vice President of Technical Standards Department of Qualcomm Technologies, Wang Xuemin, Vice President of Standard and Industry Development of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, Wang Linkun, Deputy Director of Instrumentation Technology and Economy Institute, and other senior industry experts will engage in in-depth discussions on topics such as promoting technological innovation in intelligent manufacturing through international standard cooperation, driving the digital transformation of global manufacturing, and building a healthy industrial ecosystem. They will share key achievements and advanced experiences in international cooperation on intelligent manufacturing standards, explore future paths and standardization needs for the digital transformation of global manufacturing enterprises, innovate mechanisms for international standardization cooperation, and further advance a higher level of openness to the world.

Hongqiao International Economic Forum (hereinafter referred to as HQF) is held in tandem with the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Under the theme of "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization", the 7th HQF features the main forum (the opening ceremony of the CIIE and HQF), and 19 parallel sessions under "1+4" sections, i.e. the Press Release and International Symposium on World Openness Report 2024 and parallel sessions under Opening-up for Development, Opening-up for Cooperation, Opening-up for Innovation and Opening-up for Sharing. Meanwhile, closed meetings, including roundtables for foreign-funded enterprises and promotional activities related to "Invest in China", will be organized at the 7th HQF.

Introduction to CIIE & HQF GALA

The 7th China International Import Expo & Hongqiao International Economic Forum Gala (CIIE&HQF GALA) will continue to be held before the opening ceremony, further enhancing the quality of services provided.

Facilitate networking and meetings. The Hongqiao Forum Secretariat will promptly release guest information to support mutual networking.

Enhance media interaction. Mainstream media will be invited to the event for scheduled interviews and spontaneous on-site interviews with high-profile guests, to enhance visibility. Photography services will also be provided.

Launch the function of message reservation. The information system of the Hongqiao Forum is optimized and upgraded. This system integrates such functions as registration, information inquiry, and guest interaction. It is now operational within the Hongqiao Forum module of the "Import Expo" App and applet.
