Picture perfect in Beijing

Photo Beijing 2024, this year's Beijing International Photography Week, opened on Saturday at the China Millennium Monument with an exhibition of more than 5,400 photographs from 2,600 artists.

Themed "Image: Life · Eternity", the event is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Beijing municipal government, with support from various photography associations and cultural organizations.

Running until Oct 28, this year's event incorporates 58 exhibitions and 13 panel discussions, which are taking place in venues across Beijing. It extends beyond its core venue, the China Millennium Monument, to 11 additional spaces around the capital, including galleries and art centers, universities, parks, and a hospital.

Evening sessions have been introduced from Friday to Sunday at the China Millennium Monument to allow visitors to view exhibitions and attend lectures.
