The 13th China Quyi Peony Awards are set to commence in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on Oct 26, according to a press conference held on Oct 18 in Nantong.
This year's awards will comprise 10 events, including a meeting with award winners, an award ceremony, a lecture by renowned artists, a training session, and five public performances.
The award ceremony and a series of public performances will be held on Oct 26 at the Nantong Grand Theatre, with renowned artists engaging in crosstalk, narrative singing, witty skits, storytelling, Beijing-style drumming, and other performance styles, offering Nantong audiences a feast of traditional Chinese art.
Approved by the central government, the biennial awards are held in high regard in Chinese quyi art community, or folk art community, and widely recognized by various sectors of society. Since the awards' establishment in Jiangsu in 2006, the ceremonies have been held in cities such as Nanjing, Xuzhou, Yangzhou, Suzhou, and Suqian.
The 13th China Quyi Peony Awards are sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Chinese Musicians Association, the Publicity Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Jiangsu Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
