Tourists flock to Huaqing Palace over National Day holiday

Huaqing Palace, a national top-level tourist attraction located in Xi’an, Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, held a series of activities on the theme of "Glorious Era, National Charm of Huaqing", drawing more than 280,000 tourists during the seven-day long National Day holiday.

During the holiday, Huaqing Palace hosted daily events featuring live music performances, where visitors joined in singing iconic songs. On Oct 1, National Day, representatives from various industries, including public service and healthcare, participated in a special musical event alongside tourists.

On Oct 2, a stunning Chinese costume show was held in front of Wangjing Gate, featuring models dressed in hanfu from different periods of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), showcasing the beauty of traditional Chinese fashion.

Huaqing Palace also prepared a series of intangible cultural heritage experience events for tourists over the National Day period. At Huaqing Yushan Garden, multiple intangible cultural heritage projects such as stone and stone rubbings, woodblock New Year prints, grass and wood dyeing, bamboo and paper kites, allowed tourists to experience the vast and profound cultural heritage while sightseeing.

At Huaqing Square, the Shaanxi Quality Goods Market showcased specialty products from Shaanxi province, Tang cultural and creative products, authentic intangible cultural heritage cuisine, allowing visitors to experience authentic characteristics of Shaanxi.

Dong, a tourist from Henan province, said, "This is already my second time visiting Palace. Compared to last time, there are more Tang culture interactive performances in the scenic area.
“I have personally experienced the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty and can feel the continuous innovation and dedication of the Huaqing Palace scenic area.”

As an important historical and cultural attraction in Shaanxi province, the Huaqing Palace scenic area will launch more innovative immersive experience activities and projects for tourists in the future, providing them with joy while cultivating cultural appreciation.
