The 2024 Sanqin Food Safety Integrated Media Promotion Activity was launched on Monday in Baoji city, Shaanxi province in Northwest China.

Sun Baoguo, CAE Member, president of the National Wine Research Institute of Beijing Technology and Business University; and Zhang Yongjian, director of the Development and Supervision Research Center for the Food and Drug Industry at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, made keynote speeches on food safety.
In his address, Liu Yumin credited the steady enhancement of food safety in Shaanxi to the robust guidance of the provincial Party committee and government, alongside the unified endeavors of various stakeholders within the province's market supervision system. This concerted effort has led to Shaanxi consistently achieving A-level ratings in national assessments over the past five years.
"I envision this occasion as a catalyst for reinforcing media scrutiny on food safety, prompting enterprises to uphold their primary obligations and delivering safer, more nourishing, and healthier food options for all," Liu said.
Han Ji pointed out that, since 2012, China Economic Net has hosted 13 National Food Safety Awareness Week events, conducting in-depth publicity and educational campaigns to promote understanding of food safety laws, regulations and knowledge. These efforts have continuously elevated public awareness and enhanced scientific literacy on food safety.
Li Mingquan noted recent efforts by the Baoji Municipal Party Committee and government to prioritize food safety, establish lasting mechanisms and form a pattern of food safety work.
Zhang Zheng emphasized that Xifeng liquor, a top food enterprise in Shaanxi province and one of China's four renowned liquors, upholds a millennium-long dedication to culture and quality. The company places a strong emphasis on food safety and meticulous manufacturing, viewing quality and safety as essential for its long-term growth.
Following the launch event, leaders, experts, and media visited Xifeng Group to explore its efforts in food safety, quality improvement and industry development.
The delegation toured cities in Shaanxi province, including Baoji, Tongchuan, Yan'an, and Yulin, where they delved into food safety practices of key enterprises in the food production industry chain. This involved implementing quality control systems, promoting brand development and agricultural cooperation, raising public awareness, enhancing confidence, and fostering a culture of shared responsibility for food safety maintenance.
