The seventh Hongqiao International Economic Forum officially opened registration for its upcoming event, announced the event organizer on Tuesday.

Themed "High-Standard Opening up for Universally Beneficial and Inclusive Economic Globalization", the forum is part of the China International Import Expo, scheduled to take place from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.

Director of the Forum Division at the China International Import Expo Bureau, Wang Hongwei, emphasized the forum's dedication to facilitating dialogue and collaboration among "renowned leaders from government, international organizations, business, and academia" to collectively address global economic challenges and promote a shared vision for the future.

This year's forum is structured around seven key areas of focus, tackling pressing global issues such as climate change, development within the Global South, the 30th anniversary of the World Trade Organization, and the advancement of international standards' cooperation.

Additionally, discussions will explore the future of artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, and consumption upgrades. A lineup of speakers, including Nobel laureates, senior officials from organizations such as the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and executives from multinational corporations such as AstraZeneca, 3M, HSBC, and BHP, will address the forum.

The forum will also unveil several important reports, including the World Openness Report 2024, the UNCTAD's Trade and Development Report 2024, and the UNIDO's Industrial Development Report 2024. Attendees can expect further insights from reports released by leading Chinese institutions on topics such as aging populations, sustainable trade, and youth innovation.

Registration for the forum can be accessed through the CIIE app, mini program, or the official website at forum.ciie.org.
