During the seven-day National Day holiday, Shanghai's Pudong New Area received 5.96 million tourists. The surge in visitors coincided with the Shanghai Tourism Festival, Shanghai International Light Festival, and National Day celebrations, creating the perfect combination of events for a tourism boom.
A series of activities centered around enjoying Pudong and integrating culture, tourism, sports, commerce, and exhibitions were organized. The district showcased its unique charm through three different consumption models: "exhibitions + consumption", "festivals + consumption", and "shows + consumption."
Key exhibitions like the Great Art of Dunhuang exhibition at the China Art Museum attracted nearly 100,000 visitors, while the Pudong Art Museum presented two major exhibitions in collaboration with Tate Modern from the United Kingdom. The light festival lit up the night with stunning light installations, promoting the further integration of light art and tourism consumption.
Major tourist attractions in the Pudong riverside area, Shanghai International Resort, Expo area, and Lin-gang Special Area received large numbers of visitors, driving consumption, while Events like the Shanghai International Horse Culture Week and the BETTER Life Festival at the Qiantan area helped to create a festive atmosphere.
