Saihan customs, under Hohhot customs, recently issued Qilu Pharmaceutical (Inner Mongolia) Co the first China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) Certificate of Origin.
The export product, spinosad technical concentrate, is valued at approximately 1.6 million yuan ($228,245.36). With this certificate, the company will benefit from an import tariff reduction of around 40,000 yuan in Serbia.
Since the China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement came into effect on July 1, both countries have gradually eliminated tariffs on 90 percent of goods, with the goal of achieving zero tariffs on about 95 percent of imports.
"Our company is a comprehensive pharmaceutical enterprise, and Serbia is a new emerging market for us this year. Thanks to the tariff reductions under the FTA, our products are now more competitive.” said Luo Xiaona, business manager of the pharmaceutical company.
Since the beginning of the year, Saihan customs has been actively promoting the benefits of the FTA policies, guiding enterprises in using convenient certification measures such as "intelligent review + self-printing + self-declaration" to improve certification efficiency and boost exports from Hohhot.
Statistics show that from January to August, Saihan customs issued 2,869 certificates. This is expected to help enterprises save 70 million yuan in import tariffs in foreign markets.
